Hey guys.
There’s been some really weird stuff going on around the house. It all started yesterday night when I went to bed. There was a rattling noise coming from Stove’s bed. He smelt disgusting. I had assumed that his stench had gotten so overpowering, that it caused a chemical reaction.
Well, ever since then, I’ve been noticing some stuff going on around the house. For starters, there’s been strange electromagnetic interference messing with all of my equipment. It’s been impacting just about every invention in the lab. My computer barely works and sometimes files corrupt with no reason. Even that big secret project I’ve been working on has been giving me trouble. Just about everything has been going wrong!
The weirdest event began the other day. There was some ooze coming from the bedroom door. It was green and viscous, almost like gel. It started slowly dripping down the walls. I was disgusted. I’m a little squeamish, so I asked Dan to clean it up for me. It was so repugnant that when Dan started scrubbing it, he suddenly fell off the ladder and passed out. He was barely conscious. I assumed Stove had gotten so nasty that he was secreting green ooze—but this seems to be unrelated.
I rushed him into the lab and had to take a blood sample. His blood was green—which is not normal. I injected him with one of the samples of epinephrine I had. Surprisingly, It didn’t work. It was clear this wasn’t some allergic reaction. It was much bigger, this was an infection that was making its way into Dan’s bloodstream upon touch alone.
I put his blood sample under a microscope and it looked like the red blood cells were coated in a green residue. This was going to require something much, MUCH stronger. I needed to develop an antidote.
I got to work. It was hours of trial and error to try to find a precise way to remove the green gel before it spread to the rest of Dan’s blood. It was spreading fast. If we didn’t help Dan now, he would be dead in six hours. It was unlikely I’d be able to save him in the time we had left.
I pushed the TV off of the TV cart and put Dan on it. I grabbed Isaac and the two of us ran into the city, pushing Dan on the cart. This had gone from bad to worse and as annoying as it was, I couldn’t fix it alone. I had to turn to the only people who would be able to treat Dan at the speed he needed to be treated.
…C-Tech.
They’re the most pompous group of Chris clones in the entirety of Clonopolis. If you remember, I’m banned from entering! They don’t take kindly to me because they’re jealous that I’m smarter than them. Cheap imitations that wish they could be me. But this was an emergency! In the name of science and Dan I needed to put all bias aside. So we pressed on anyways.
Isaac buzzed in. “Hey dudes, uh, Dan’s like dying or something. We need to help him because if we don’t he’s gonna like, die.” There was an awkward silence for a minute before a small Chris clone opened the door. He had goggles and a small nose. He’s another one of the clones from my original batch and unsurprisingly, he didn’t want to help us. But when he saw Dan was the one who needed help? His tune changed pretty quick. He said Dan painted a portrait of him that hangs in his living room.
For some reason, the clones actually like Dan? They all take very kindly to him. After all, he’s the only one who heads into the city regularly. Why he concerns himself with these menial relationships is beyond me.
The small clone with goggles and a different one wearing a blue suit operated on Dan. They told me to leave him be, and that they’d drop him back off at the house tomorrow. I didn’t want to leave Dan alone. I told them that if they wanted to operate on Dan without my supervision, they’d have to go through Isaac.
…Turns out it doesn’t take much. The Chris in the blue suit twisted Isaac’s forearm a little and he gave in. He asked me to give him a lollipop when we got back home. I said no.
Isaac and I headed back. We rolled the TV cart back home and put on a movie. I couldn’t work on anything since my equipment was all acting up, and Isaac gave me a couple ideas for stuff I could work on in the meantime. Admittedly, there were a couple good ones.
Will let you guys know any updates soon,
Chris
