Hey everyone,
Just feeling like dumping some thoughts. Been a long day in the lab.
I was wondering today—what am I?
That’s a hell of a loaded question that many ask themselves on a regular basis. To reassure you, I’m not going through an existential crisis. I’m being literal—what the hell am I??
I’m certainly not human. Humans had entire systems that we don’t have. I don’t have a fully functioning “digestive” system. If I eat something it just kinda—dissolves and excretes. Like, it just kinda turns into sweat and other bodily fluids. Humans had something called…. “Poop”.
I don’t do that.
According to some books I found on species classifications from humanity, there’s a whole classification system for different species! But I have no earthly idea how to classify myself or the others.
We’re derived from humans… so maybe that would that make our species “Homo Hominens”? All I know is that we’re humans that are so genetically modified we’re basically a different species. I don’t think the average human had glasses embedded into their skull.
Reading through this, there were entire species that are entirely nonexistent now. Like, I have no idea what a dolphin is. It looks scary. The aquatic animals are the scariest. I still haven’t really explored the ocean. Who knows what creatures are down there—it could be any mess of mutations. And we live right by a beach. You think it’d be easy to check.
The earth in its current state is still largely unexplored. Maybe someday I’ll venture out and check out the sights. I’ll leave that to others more adventurous than me.
I’ll get back to it. Talk soon,
Chris.
